Uwagboe's Kitchen & Grill is a growing Nigerian restaurant and cultural hospitality brand based in Edinburgh, with corporate catering and event services across Edinburgh and surrounding areas including West Lothian, East Lothian, and Fife. The business delivers authentic food, warm hospitality, and memorable experiences for private customers, workplaces, community events, and organisations seeking something distinctive and inclusive.
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Business Sales Executive to help accelerate our next stage of growth. This is a high-impact role focused on winning new business, building strategic partnerships, and increasing revenue across corporate catering, events, venue hire, and community-led hospitality opportunities.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Founder & Managing Director to identify opportunities, develop strong client relationships, and position Uwagboe's Kitchen & Grill as a preferred catering and events partner for businesses, universities, public sector organisations, charities, and professional networks across Scotland. This role suits someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on sales execution and relationship leadership.
Generate new business opportunities with a target value of £250,000+ annually.
Build, manage, and convert a healthy sales pipeline across corporate catering, workplace lunches, conferences, university events, private dining, cultural celebrations, and venue hire.
Develop relationships with key decision-makers including HR leaders, office managers, event managers, universities, charities, public sector organisations, and professional services firms.
Represent the brand at networking events, meetings, and partnership opportunities across Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the wider Scottish market.
Create repeat business opportunities through effective account management, tailored packages, and loyalty-led corporate propositions.
Work with the Founder to deliver growth strategy, market insight, competitor awareness, and new commercial initiatives.
Collaborate with marketing activity to convert campaigns, events, and brand visibility into measurable sales outcomes.
Beyond delivering sales performance, this role requires strong leadership capability. The successful candidate will influence stakeholders effectively, lead initiatives across teams, and help strengthen a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
Demonstrate strategic leadership and sound commercial judgement.
Lead without authority across multiple teams and functions.
Coach colleagues to strengthen customer engagement and service quality.
Support implementation of the UKG "One Experience" customer excellence framework.
We are looking for a confident, proactive, and relationship-driven professional with a strong track record in business development, account management, or commercial partnerships.
MBA in Leadership Practice, Business Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in sales, business development, partnerships, or account management.
Excellent networking, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong commercial awareness and financial literacy.
Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver against ambitious targets.
Experience in hospitality, catering, events, or African food service.
Knowledge of Edinburgh and wider Scottish business networks.
Existing corporate contacts and partnership networks.
Experience securing sponsorships, strategic partnerships, or commercial agreements.
Understanding of cultural intelligence and inclusive business practice.
