We are seeking a highly skilled Offshore Well Engineer to support drilling, completion, and intervention operations in an offshore environment. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective well delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with rig teams, geoscientists, and onshore engineering support to execute well programmes while maintaining the highest safety and operational standards.
Plan, design, and execute drilling and completion programmes for offshore wells
Monitor real-time well operations to ensure performance, safety, and efficiency
Provide technical support to offshore rig teams during drilling and intervention activities
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations
Analyse well data to optimise drilling performance and reduce non-productive time (NPT)
Manage well integrity and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards
Coordinate with contractors, service companies, and internal stakeholders
Prepare detailed reports on well operations, performance, and incidents
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies during offshore operations
Support cost tracking and optimisation of well delivery budgets
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in offshore drilling, completions, or well intervention
Strong understanding of well engineering principles and drilling operations
Experience working on offshore rigs (e.g. jack-up, semi-submersible, or drillship)
Knowledge of HSE standards and offshore safety practices
Ability to work in high-pressure, remote, and rotational environments
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
IWCF or IADC Well Control Certification (current)
Experience in the North Sea or similar offshore environments
Familiarity with drilling software and real-time data monitoring tools
Experience managing contractors and service providers
Rotational shift pattern (e.g. 2 weeks on / 2–3 weeks off)
Offshore-based role requiring travel to rig locations
